Expectations of the Court

Recent changes mean that the courts will now look closely to see if applicants and respondents in court have attended a Mediation Information Meeting

This will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with the obligation on parties to complete a form before at least the first hearing, to set out their views on Non Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR) and why they might not think it suitable

A judge will now also have the power to use the gaps between hearings to encourage NCDR to take place
